Katinka Pieterse
Katinka Pieterse (Chairperson).
Mrs. Pieterse (BS Social Work Unisa) is the Program Director of Abba Specialist Adoption and Social Services, which is a part of a National Child Protection organization called the AFM Executive Welfare Council.  She has worked for Abba since 2001 and has 20 years of experience in both child protection and specialist adoptions services.   She also worked at the Department of Social Development as a social worker for four years and has had wide exposure to adoption programs and services of various countries in the world, like Ethiopia, Kenya, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Finland, Germany and Belgium.

Sue Krawitz
Sue Krawitz (Vice Chairperson). 
Sue Krawitz (BA Hons Social Work University of Witwaterand 1982) is a registered social worker, specialization in adoption. She is the Director of Impilo Child Protection and Adoption services, a Child Protection Organization and Place of Safety, which she founded in 2003. She has worked in the field of adoption since 1989. She has experience working with birth families, adoptees and adopters, and intercountry adoptions. She has been instrumental in establishing the National adoption coalition, and has served on the adoption committee of SAASWIPP.

Rene Ferreira. (Secretary)
Mrs. Ferreira (BA Social Science:  Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit 1991) is the Assistant CEO Managing Adoption Social Worker for AFM Abba Adoptions Head Office.  She has been working as social worker for the past 24 years and specializing in adoption for more than 11 years.  She is the Provincial Coordinator for NACSA’s Tshwane coalition and has played an active role in presenting the Community Engagement and Child Protection Programs to all the provinces in South Africa.  She has also provided adoption related training and awareness across the country.

Elsabe Engelbrecht
Elsabe Engelbrecht.
Mrs. Engelbrecht obtained a B (Diac) degree in Social work Cum laude in 1982 and a BA Honours degree in Social work Cum laude in 1989. She obtained her Masters degree in Social work Cum laude from the University of Pretoria in 1997. Elsabé worked as Social worker rendering child and family care services for a period of 5 years before she accepted a post as Lecturer in Social work at the University of Pretoria. In 1995 Elsabé entered into private practice as the founder member and CEO of PROCARE. Under her leadership PROCARE has grown to one of the largest private social work practices in South Africa.

Leonie Greyling
Leonie Greyling.
Mrs. Greyling received her BA Soc Hons, Social Work from the University of Pretoria in 1978 and Masters Mental Health University of South Africa.  She has been a Program Manager at AFM Abba Adoptions since 2002.  Her core functions at AFM Abba Adoptions are therapeutic services to individual, couples and families, statutory services and alternative care, networking with other professionals, and assessment of case flow and tasks of social workers.

Elke Day
Elke Day.  Mrs. Day received her Bachelor of Social Science in Social Work from the University of Natal in 1990.  Elke Day has been involved in adoption in many ways- through starting a Children’s Home and facilitating adoptions, standing on the Adoption Panel of Midrand Child Welfare, through adopting both a baby and older child, working at Abba Adoptions as a Statutory Social Worker and running an Adoption Support Group.  She is now looking into assisting families who are in the process of adoption or who need support post-adoption and is available on a consultant basis to Adoption Practices.

Angi Ellet
Angi Ellet.
Mrs. Ellett is an adoptive mom who provides encouragement and support to others adoptive parents in regards to the adoptive process.  She is also the South African Ambassador Liaison with the World Adoption Day team, who are based in Los Angeles, USA.

Luke Lamprecht.
Mr. Lamprecht is the monitoring and evaluation manager for Johannesburg parent Child Counselling Centre. He is also the Chief Operational Officer, trainer and supervisor of the Art Therapy Centre. He is a long standing advocate for Child protection and as such is a convenor for the Johannesburg Child Advocacy Forum; Legal advocacy spokesperson for Women and Men Against Child Abuse and Development officer for the Shaken and Abused Baby Initiative.
